Vermiculite is a form of expanded mineral rock with high water holding capacity. Used for germinating seeds and growing bulbs. Add to hydroponic aggregate mix. A mix of 2 part perlite and 1 part vermiculite makes a good hydroponic mix. The vermiculite helps retain moisture while perlite improves aeration and drainage.
