SEED PRE SOAK : Yes (8-10 hours)
GROWING MEDIUM : Soil / Hydroponics
FLAVOUR : Sweet, crunchy
DETAILS: Healthy fats are the reason sunflower microgreens are so energy-dense. A 1/4 cup serving of sunflower microgreens has 2 grams of saturated fat and 14 grams of unsaturated fat. They can also help you meet your daily Iron and Calcium needs.
Soil: Soak seeds overnight or for 8-10 hours. Fill good quality potting mix in a container, spray the mix, and spread seeds evenly on the mix surface and press them down into the mix but do not cover. Be careful not to overlap the seeds. Spray water on the seeds. Cover the seeds for 3-4 days (check to make sure mix is moist by spraying once a day) or when seeds start to germinate. Expose the plant to light after germination occurs and water regularly, keeping the mix moist.
Hemp Pad/Mat: Soak seeds overnight or for 8-10 hours. Soak hemp mat in water so it is moist. Lay on a flat tray and sow your seeds generously but evenly on mat. Spray water again on seeds so both mat and seeds are moist. Place the mat in a dark area like a shoe box to allow it to germinate. Once the seeds have germinated, expose to natural light, and keep the mat moist for best results.
GERMINATION PERIOD: 3-4 days after sowing
HARVEST TIME & METHOD: 5-7 days after germination. Harvest once the seed leaf are out. To harvest, simply use a pair of scissors and snip just above the potting medium.
